Resonance, A Journey Ignited Through Light
January 19 - March 25, 2018
Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226
The wisdom of the unconscious illuminates each of these six artist's work in a personal way through their relationship with 'light'. Similar or dissimilar in technique, their congruence will be determined by the viewer.

What goes on in the mind of the abstract artist? In this life full of responsibility, urgency, stress and search for peace ... there are no limits to how an artist's expressive interpretation will connect with the observer.

Melanie Warsinske, Curator of ' Resonance' chose to work with this group of abstract painters because they share a 'common thread'... an internal light that serves as an integral profound guide and inspiration. As one artist articulated, "In our abstract minds there are no limitations, we synthesize everything that comes through us igniting an intellectual and/or emotional journey as we paint from 'this place within us' – yet our end results are so uniquely different."

'Resonance' is not only about how the artists share a common vision within this exhibition, but ultimately how their use of light connects with the viewer elevating thought-provoking curiosity, intrigue, beauty, emotion and escape.

Warsinske's choice of work for this show captures individuality with highlights of stunning color, luscious use of paint movement, texture and the play between positive/negative space that will engage the viewer ... taking them through a captivating journey.

Introspective Journey Solo Exhibition
January 12 - March 26, 2017
Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226
'Introspective Journey' is a series of paintings that have evolved from a personal need to create time and space. Deep within my consciousness, I see 'light' and 'darkness' vying for attention - I choose to dwell in the light. In my most peaceful and meditative state, I visualize soft gentle shapes and movements, almost 'womb-like' or ethereal. As in life, sometimes serenity is interrupted by challenge, which often plays out on my canvas. 'Introspective Journey' is the ebb and flow of coming back to tranquility and light.

When Realism and Abstracts Meet, "Sense of Wonder" is an art exhibit comprised of two different artists with their unique perspectives. There may be the one common theme of wonder in their work, but the results of their vision are a study in contrasts, yet similarities, using different approaches.
