Waves
I was fortunate to travel both abroad and within the United States with my family while growing up. The lure of the ocean has been an inspiration for my artwork, as seen in these paintings beginning in the mid 2000’s. Little did I know that the mesmerizing rhythm of the ocean’s waves would translate into visions of horses running through the water, with their manes blowing in the wind and spirits soaring! A majority of my current horse paintings are wave inspired in my Horse Power series.
In The Very Beginning…
While in college my art professors gave me free range of use in not only the painting studio, but also the metal and wood shops. My focus was ‘experimental’ painting and my interpretation of that was to use everything I could find and manipulate those materials into my paintings. My ‘building’ skills carried on for many years after I graduated receiving my Fine Arts degree.
